GS1: “Hey, Grandma, there’s a Rudolph deer in the garage,” GS1 announced this week.
Me: “Yes, honey, the firemen returned it.”
GS1: “The firemen?”
Me: “uh-huh…they needed a deer for their Christmas parade and asked Papa if they could borrow him.”
GS1: “Oh, that’s where the deer went!”
Me: “We still had the star on the chimney and the angel on the balcony so Papa saw no problem with sharing our deer.”
GS1: “I wondered where the deer went…(laughing) and it came back as Rudolph for Valentine’s!”
Later in the day: “Hey, Mommy, guess what? Rudolph is in the garage!”
I love it when his bemused wonder echoes throughout the house.
Note to self: I think we’ll keep him just as he is now with the red nose and festive bow for next year.
