As I drive around the neighborhood during the day, I’m seeing red all around on our country roads: red gates, red fences and red stars.
This pretty white fence is all decked out in red for the season.
I’m seeing red, but no white stuff.

Great fences. is it snowing there?
No, not at all. We get snow once every few years. I imagine you do where you are. Do you?
Just love the last fence picture 🙂
Have a fine day

It’s a beautiful scene with a grand house on the lawn behind it. Thank you, Knipsa. You have a wonderful weekend.
I just loved the red bows! Nice pop of color ~ MJ
The red on the white fence just says Christmas, doesn’t it? Thank you for stopping by. So sorry I’ve been absent of late. Meeting deadlines and today is the last one. Let the holidays begin.
The bottom fence sure has a LOT of bows!
I’m sure it took some time to hang them all, but I thank them for their work. It’s such a pretty sight in our small town.
Red is the season! going to Smithfield this weekend….love the little town at Christmas, so pretty!
I love red at this time of year. When you go on your road trip, wave to Dianna for me. 🙂
I love the color red. The fence with the red bows is so festive!
All of a sudden I’m spotting red anything. “It makes the season bright.”
Since red is my favorite color I am all over this post!!! Love the star. 🙂
Glad you like the red. No white stuff, though. We have a lot of piney green woods, too, in East TX. Thank you for stopping by.
I am a fan of the Texas star. 🙂 When we looked at houses way back in the summer every single place we looked at had some form of it —either in iron work on stairways or decorations on the house. Fun!
I do love our Lonestar in all its forms.
i like that first one a lot. 🙂 thanks, georgette!
There’s a small star in the center of it. 🙂
So sorry you can’t enlarge. I used to be able to get the hovering hand thingy to work, but lately I only get the cursor arrow that doesn’t click to enlarge.
I like your cow parade and all the pops of red on your farm and in this post. As it happens I have a post entitled “What’s Red at Christmastime” in the queue to be published soon. By the way, husband Cliff accepts your compliment on his artwork with pride and humility, he says. 🙂
Thank you, Marian. And, ha…that makes two of us. You’re writing about red and I’m writing about humility on Sunday. 🙂 Too funny how points intersect, connect, converge or just go parallel. The post will have about half a dozen visuals so perhaps both you can CBeaman will enjoy it.
I look forward to seeing more original artwork at your site and posts as you march towards your next milestone. Applause and encore!
I’m really fond of simple decorations, and red bows are one of the things that do it for me — along with garlands of greens. The beribboned fence is lovely — I’d love to drive past that every day.
I agree. Christmas red bows are so lovely and festive.
All decked out for Christmas — looks nice!
Maybe we’ll be surprised on Christmas Eve, like on December 24 of 2004 when all of a sudden at night we saw snowflakes falling. It’s a magical memory. Still, I’m loving “I Spy-ing” the red.
The fences look very festive with the lovely red bows! You don´t need snow to have a good Christmas.
Maybe we will be surprised and get some. It happened the Christmas Eve of 2004. What a magical moment that was, especially against the dark of night.
Don’t look for the white stuff as in snow, my friend! First of all we live in Texas, but what I think is more important is that it wasn’t snowing in Bethlehem!! Love you & Merry Christmas to you & yours!
Thank you for the reminder. It wasn’t snowing in Bethlehem.
Take care. Merry Christmas to all of you! We have more catching up to do.
Yes, we do. When are you free?
I must say the red is pretty but like you said, where is the snow? We do not have any here (Vienna) either as yet. It is so bad that some ski slopes have had to cancel the start of the season as it is still dry.
Interesting that you report none in Austria, a country where we usually associate snow. I enjoyed visiting your site this morning. There’s a lot to catch up on and very fascinating reading.
I love those red bows!
They really dress up an already lovely white fence, don’t they?
Maybe it will snow on Christmas Day. It is so pretty there.
It snowed one Christmas Eve in 2004 as I’ve mentioned before. It was magical as we drove to my brother’s and then Christmas Eve services that night. Talk about surprised. We had to pinch ourselves. Snow rarely comes our way, and when it came on Christmas Eve, oh my!
A gift!
It was. It truly was. People still comment “Remember when it snowed on Christmas Eve?” We all know they mean December 24, 2004.
These are great. I love the Red Star and the row of Red Bows. So pretty and festive.
When red pops up in the country, it stands out, doesn’t it?
Great fence post, I like the red starts and the red bows.. Very pretty..
Thank you, Eileen. Like a red cardinal coming to visit, these are delightful surprises driving by.
lovely white fence and the red bows look very festive on there.
We pass this house and its front lawn on weekends when we go into our small town.
I love the header on the top of your blog..how long have you had that up? don’t tell me months. 😉 DM
haha…just changed it this morning to go with the fences’ meme. You’re good. I’m glad you like it as my lens was pointed into the sun. I was trying to get the calves with their mamas. There are seven calves now.
Green…green is good! Can you tell I don’t like snow.
Nah, not at all. (wink)
Oh those bows. Nice work.
A lot of work hanging them, I’m sure.
All “Good Fences”… love the star and bows. Still looks like summer in your bit of country 🙂
Our days start in the 40’s and end up in the 60’s. Jacket weather.
Perfect!
No snow yet in the UK where I live, but guess it won’t be long or for Google to start adding snow to my photos when I don’t want them too.
USA has a much wider variety of fences like yours in Texas that we have,
Texas DOES fences and gates like no other. Just take a drive in the country to be pleasantly surprised. Thank you for visiting and your appreciation for our corner of the world.
Red does seem to get us in the spirit of things for the holidays. i love the red bowed fence and wouldn’t it look pretty with some white stuff too. 🙂
I put the wreath on the gate to the yard yesterday with a red bow. I thought it needed more red company so I brought out the candy canes I told Rick just had to make the move, too. Time will tell if we get snow this year, but if we do, you know I’ll write about it.
Lovin’ the fences. I especially like the one all decked out in red ribbons…so bright and cheerful!!
Merry Christmas, Anni. I’m so glad you enjoyed that fence.
I’d much rather see red than the white stuff!
Hang on…we have freezing advisories for tonight. I know grandson will be looking for snowflakes. 🙂
